In 1982 New York native John Nolan became the first-ever American-born winner of the senior All-Ireland button accordion championship at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann, Ireland’s great annual traditional music festival. John is one of the most technically accomplished “box” players alive and is especially well regarded by his fellow musicians for his large repertoire of rare reels, jigs, hornpipes and waltzes.
John will be joined by Brooklyn keyboard ace Keith Sammett, who played with him on his critically acclaimed 2000 recording A Rake of Reels, and by local fiddle great Bernadette Fee. |
