NYU College of Arts and Science Recognizes Excellence in Teaching: NYU Names 2002 “Golden Dozen”, Honoring Faculty Distinction in the Classroom

New York,NY –Richard Foley, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Science at New York University, named this year’s winners of the Golden Dozen teaching awards at the recent University baccalaureate ceremony held at Radio City Music Hall. The Golden Dozen awards honor 12 outstanding members of faculty who have demonstrated excellence in teaching and service to undergraduate students.

Selection for the awards is based on a variety of factors, including nominations from students and faculty, course evaluations, and the nominee’s teaching dossier. Each candidate is also assessed by his or her individual department.

“The 2002 Golden Dozen Awards highlight the commitment of the Arts and Science faculty to teaching and service, and these faculty members embody that commitment at work in the College of Arts and Sciences,” said Dean Foley. “In addition to displaying outstanding teaching ability, each of the recipients of the Golden Dozen Awards is an eminent and respected scholar in his or her own field.”
