Glucksman Ireland House has been very fortunate to have had a large number of excellent students, both graduate and undergraduate, pursuing further knowledge of Irish and Irish-American Studies.  When Glucksman Ireland House began offering classes, we served 50 students per year.  In the past few years, these numbers have grown to over 500 per year.

Here are a few projects currently underway at Glucksman Ireland House that involve our strongest students:

Glucksman Ireland House Oral Project - A collaboration between Ireland House and the Archives of Irish America in which NYU undergraduate students develop finding aids, including interviews, for members of the Irish-American community as part of their coursework for "An Oral History of Irish America," currently taught by Prof. Marion R. Casey and Prof. Linda Dowling Almeida.

Ireland House Student Association (IHSA) - A student club uniting NYU students with a common interest in Irish Studies.  IHSA members hold biweekly meetings and organize four social or academic events per semester.  The club provides an opportunity for networking and sharing of knowledge regarding Irish Studies as a personal interest, as a scholastic focus, and as an on-going career path.

Washington Square Harp and Shamrock Orchestra (WSHSO) - An NYU-based traditional Irish music group headed by Prof. Mick Moloney. The group consists of NYU students and musicians from New York's Irish music community. During the academic year it meets for rehearsal every week and performs several times a semester.

Grian - An Irish Studies organization, based at Glucksman Ireland House at NYU, comprised of scholars affiliated with numerous New York-area universities.  These scholars are at various stages of their academic career, ranging from M.A. students to university professors, thus fostering mentorship in the community.
